Abstract
In order to comprehensively prevent the risk of radioactive contamination to food safety caused by the discharge of Japan's Fukushima nuclear-contaminated water into the sea, protect the health of Chinese consumers, and ensure the safety of imported food, in accordance with the Food Safety Law and its implementation regulation, the Imported and Exported Food Safety Management Measures of the People's Republic of China and the World Trade Organization's Agreement on the Implementation of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, the General Administration of Customs has decided to completely suspend the import of aquatic products (including edible aquatic animals )originating from Japan since August 24, 2023.
