Abstract
This Decision is formulated to implement the Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress to Comprehensively Prohibit the Illegal Trade of Wild Animals, Break the Bad Habit of Excessive Consumption of Wild Animals, and Effectively Secure the Life and Health of the People, maintain biological safety and ecological safety, effectively prevent major public health risks, advocate scientific and civilized lifestyles and eating habits, and effectively protect the lives and health of the people.
It is forbidden to consume "terrestrial wild animals with important ecological, scientific and social values" and other terrestrial wild animals protected by the state, including artificially-bred and artificially-raised terrestrial wild animals. It is forbidden to hunt, trade and transport terrestrial wild animals that naturally grow and reproduce in the wild environment for the purpose of eating. Due to special circumstances such as scientific research, medicinal use, display, etc., non-edible use of wild animals shall be carried out in accordance with the relevant regulations of the state and this province, strict approval and quarantine inspection shall be implemented.
