Decree No. 48 of the State Forestry Administration on the Decision on amending the Administrative Provisions on Wetland Protection.

The State Forestry Administration decided to make the the amendments to the Provisions on Wetland Protection and Management.
The Amendments include: 1. Article 1 is amended to read: "In order to strengthen the protection and management of wetlands, and to implement the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance, Especially as Waterfowl Habitats, these Provisions are formulated in accordance with laws, regulations, and relevant provisions."; 2. "Protection priority and scientific restoration" in Article 3 is revised to "comprehensive protection and scientific restoration"; 3. Article 11 is amended to read: "The competent forestry departments of the people's governments at or above the county level may protect wetlands by establishing wetland nature reserves, wetland parks, wetland protection communities, improving the wetland protection and management institutions and their systems, improving the wetland protection system, and strengthening wetland protection."; 4. Article 12 is revised to read: "Wetlands are divided into national important wetlands, local important wetlands, and general wetlands based on their ecological location, ecosystem functions, and biodiversity."; 5. Article 13 is revised to read: "The State Forestry Administration, in conjunction with relevant departments under the State Council, shall formulate standards and management measures for the identification of national important wetlands, clarifies relevant management rules and procedures, and publishes a directory of national important wetlands."; etc.
