Abstract
These Directive Rules are enacted in accordance with the Administrative Measures for Safety Review of New Food Raw Materials, aiming to standardize the review of safety assessment materials for new food raw materials.
The safety review of new food ingredients involves experts to review the safety assessment materials, and when necessary, combined with on-site verification to make a technical review conclusion. The National Health and Family Planning Commission makes a decision on whether to approve or not based on the conclusion of the technical review. The Directive Rules consist of 27 Articles divided into 5 Chapters: General Provisions; Expert Evaluation Requirements; On-site Verification Requirements; Review and Approval; Supplementary Provisions.
