Abstract
This Law is formulated in accordance with the Constitution in order to protect the legitimate rights and interests of laborers, readjust labor relationship, establish and safeguard the labor system suiting the socialist market economy, and promote economic development and social progress.
The Law consists of 13 Chapters: Chapter I General Provisions; Chapter II Promotion of Employment; Chapter III Labor Contracts and Collective Contracts; Chapter IV Working Hours, Rests, and Leaves; Chapter V Wages; Chapter VI Labor Safety and Sanitation; Chapter VII Special Protection for Female Staff and Workers and Juvenile Workers; Chapter VIII Professional Training; Chapter IX Social Insurance and Welfare Treatment; Chapter X Labor Disputes; Chaper XI Supervision and Inspection; Chapter XII Legal Liabilities; Chapter XIII Supplementary Provisions.
The state shall promotes economic and social development, creates employment conditions, and expands employment opportunities. Workers have the right to equal employment and career choice, the right to receive labor remuneration, the right to rest and take leave, the right to receive labor safety and health protection, the right to receive vocational skills training, the right to enjoy social insurance and benefits, the right to submit labor disputes for resolution, and other labor rights stipulated by law.
