Abstract
The purpose of these Measures is to strengthen the supervision and administration of veterinary drugs, promote rational clinical use of veterinary drugs, and guarantee the safety of animal products. The Measures consist of 18 articles.
The Ministry of Agriculture shall be responsible for the management of veterinary prescription and non-prescription drugs. The Catalogue of Veterinary Prescription Drugs shall be formulated and promulgated by the Ministry of Agriculture. A veterinary drug production enterprise shall follow the safety and effectiveness of its veterinary drug products and report to the Ministry of Agriculture in a timely manner if its products are not suitable for non-prescription veterinary drug management. The Measures further provide for the labelling of veterinary prescription and non-prescription drugs, supervision measures and offences and penalties.
