Abstract
These Measures are enacted in order to implement the regional management of animal epidemic diseases, standardize the activities for the assessment of specified animal disease-free zones, effectively control and extinguish major animal diseases, improve animal health and the safety level of animal products, and promote animal and animal product trade. The Measures consist of 33 Articles divided into 6 Chapters: General Provisions; Application; Assessment; Announcement; Supervision and Inspection; Supplementary Provisions.
Where a specified animal disease-free zone is established and meets the requirements of the State, the administrative department of animal husbandry and veterinary at the provincial level shall apply to the Ministry of Agriculture for assessment. The National Committee on Animal Health Risk Assessment shall, within 5 working days after receiving the notification from the Ministry of Agriculture, form an expert group for assessment.
