Abstract
These Measures are formulated for the implementation of the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Marine Environment Protection in Guangdong Province. The Measures consist of 48 Articles divided into 7 Chapters: General Provisions (I); Marine Environmental Supervision and Management (II); Marine Ecological Environment Protection (III); Prevention and Control of Marine Environment Pollution (IV); Marine Environmental Impact Assessment (V); Legal Liabilities (VI); Supplementary Provisions (VII).
The Measures outline principles such as scientific planning and land-sea coordination and mandates all coastal government levels to integrate marine environmental protection into regional development plans.
