Measures of Sichuan Province on Implementing Agriculture Technology Extension Law of the People's Republic of China.

The purpose of these Measures is to strengthen agricultural technology extension service, promote the application of achievements in agricultural scientific research and new technology, promote the adjustment of agricultural structure, change the mode of agricultural development, and promote the modernization of agriculture. the Measures consist of 35 Articles.
The competent agriculture, forestry, water conservancy and other authorities of local people's government at or above the county level shall be responsible for agricultural technology extension in accordance with their respective functions and duties within their respective administrative areas. The governments shall encourage and support the development, introduction, popularization and application of advanced agricultural technology, popularization of agricultural science and technology knowledge, innovation of agricultural technology promotion methods, and international cooperation and exchanges of agricultural technology promotion. Entities engaged in agricultural technology extension services may enjoy the state's financial support, the preferential conditions on tax, credit, insurance and other aspects. The Measures further provide for: the functions and duties of agricultural technology extension institutions at or above county level, the village agricultural technology integrated service stations and farmer technicians; agricultural technology extension planning; the policies and measures to establish, secure and increase Special Funds for Agricultural Technology Extension, ensure working conditions of agricultural technology extension institutions, and improve working and living conditions of specialized technical personnel; offences and penalties.
