Abstract
These Provisions are enacted in accordance with the Administrative Measures for Safety Review of New Food Raw Materials, aiming to standardize the application and acceptance of new food raw materials. The Text consists of 25 Articles.
The new food raw materials should have the characteristics of food raw materials, meet the nutritional requirements that they should have, and be non-toxic and harmless, and should not cause any acute, subacute, chronic or other potential hazards to human health. The following items that meet the above requirements and have no traditional eating habits in China are within the scope of application and acceptance of new food raw materials: （1） Animals, plants and microorganisms; （2） Ingredients isolated from animals, plants and microorganisms; （3） Food ingredients with original structure changed; （4） Other newly developed food raw materials.
The new food raw materials should have the characteristics of food raw materials, meet the nutritional requirements that they should have, and be non-toxic and harmless, and should not cause any acute, subacute, chronic or other potential hazards to human health.
