Abstract
These Provisions are enacted by the State Administration of Market Supervision in accordance with the Food Safety Law and the Measures for the Administration of the Registration and Recordation of Dietary Supplements.
The recordation of dietary supplements refers to the process during which manufacturers of dietary supplements submit the materials that prove the safety, health care functions and quality controllability of the dietary supplements to food and drug administrations for archiving, public disclosure and future reference, according to statutory procedures, conditions and requirements.
The Provisions stipulate the principles must be followed for the use of excipients of dietary supplements, including: no health hazard to the human body; do not reduce the health function and nutritional value of the product itself; reducing the amount of use in the products as much as possible on the premise of achieving the expected effect; the use of processing aids should comply with the "National Food Safety Standard for the Use of Food Additives" (GB2760) and related regulations; the food raw materials included in these Provisions are allowed to be used; etc.
