Abstract
These Provisions, consisting of 35 Articles, are formulated to promote an eco-friendly society and prevent and control pollution caused from disposable plastic products.
In Hainan Special Economic Zone, it is forbidden to produce, transport, sell, store, use the disposable plastic shopping bag with a thickness of 0.030 mm or less than 0.030 mm, and plastic lunch boxes, bowls, plates, dishes, cups and other tableware. In the operations and services of retail premises and service establishments, it is prohibited to use disposable plastic packing bags, except for food preservation bags. The provincial people's Government may adjust the type of plastic products prohibited or restricted according to the actual need.
The Provisions further cover, among others, the issues of recycling disposal and related charges of used plastic products, supervision and administration, offences and penalties.
