Provisions on Transboundary Emergency Management of Radiation Effects of Nuclear Accidents.

These Provisions, consists of 19 articles, are formulated in accordance with the Regulations on Emergency Management of Nuclear Accidents at Nuclear Power Plants and to fulfill the obligations of relevant international conventions to which China is a party, aiming to regulate the emergency management work when the radiation impact of nuclear accidents crosses the border and ensure the required emergency response capabilities.
These Provisions apply to the management of external notifications and information transfer of nuclear accidents that occur in China that cause or may cause radiation effects abroad, as well as emergency response management on the radiation effects of foreign nuclear accidents by which China is or may be affected.
The emergency response organization in the affected area shall conduct necessary emergency radiation monitoring and evaluation. The monitoring and evaluation should include: (1) Radioactive pollution levels in the air, on the ground, or in affected sea areas; (2) Radioactive contamination levels of domestic food or imported food; (3) Radioactive contamination levels of personnel from contaminated areas; etc. (Art. 14 ).
