Abstract
The purpose of these Regulations is to regulate production and business operation activities of small food workshops, small restaurants, grocery stores and food vendors, ensure food safety, and protect public health and life safety. The Regulations consist of 56 articles divided into 6 Chapters: Overall provisions(I); General provisions (II); Standardized production and business operation (III); Supervision and inspection; (IV); Legal liabilities (V); Supplementary provisions (VI).
Small food workshops, small restaurants, grocery stores and food vendors are the primary responsible persons for food safety, responsible for the safety of their food production and business operation. The catalogue of food varieties prohibited from production and operation shall be formulated by the food safety supervision and management department of the autonomous region people's government and made public to the society. Food small workshops, small restaurants, and snack shops shall obtain a business license in accordance with the law and register with the food safety supervision and management department of the people's government at the county level before engaging in food production and operation. However, those who sell edible agricultural products and only sell pre packaged food do not need to register. If only pre packaged food is sold, it shall be reported to the food safety supervision and management department of the people's government at the county level for filing. Food vendors are subject to the filing management.
