Regulations of the Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture on the Protection and Development of Ethnic Medicine.

This Regulation is enacted to inherit and promote ethnic medicine, protect and leverage the characteristics and resource advantages of ethnic medicine. The Regulation consists of 36 Articles divided into 6 chapters, including General Provisions; Protection and Development; Service and Management; Talent Cultivation and Scientific Research; Legal Liabilities; Supplementary Provisions.
Ethnic medical institutions and those who have obtained rural doctor's practice certificates may plant, collect, purchase and prepare ethnic medicines by themselves and use them in their corresponding medical activities in accordance with relevant national regulations. The collection, storage and processing of ethnic medicinal materials shall comply with relevant national technical specifications, standards and management regulations.
County level and above people's governments should strengthen the management and protection of intellectual property rights in ethnic medicine, guide and support the application for ethnic medicine patents, geographical indications, and intangible cultural heritage.
