Abstract
These Measures are developed in accordance with the Law on the Prevention and Control of Air Pollution and the Regulations on the Prevention and Control of Air Pollution of Shanghai Municipality, aiming to strengthen the prevention and control of air pollution in the catering sector, improve the quality of the air environment, and ensure public health.
The Measures specify the responsibilities of various government bodies, including municipal and district governments, as well as the ecological environment departments, in overseeing and implementing these Measures. The Measures also detail the obligations of food service business operators to comply with pollution control standards, including the installation and maintenance of appropriate emission control equipment.
Additionally, the Measures prohibit the establishment of new, modified, or expanded food service projects that produce smoke, odors, or exhaust gases in residential buildings or mixed-use buildings without dedicated exhaust systems.
