Decree-Law No. 3/2015 establishing the legal framework for mineral exploitation.

This Decree-Law, consisting of 86 articles divided into ten Chapters, a Table of taxes and three Annexes, establishes the legal framework for mineral exploitation. It specifies the legislation on quarries exploitation and the requirements to be satisfied in order to obtain a licence to perform the above mentioned activity. This framework especially regards to: strengthening the environmental aspects and the licensing procedures, monitoring of holdings, regulating the relationship with third parties, the exploitation contract, the issuing of licence, the exploitation and rehabilitation of quarry areas, preserving the quality of the local environment with the supervision of quarrying. In addition, it establishes related offences, penalties and fees.
