Decree-Law No. 49/2016 establishing structure, organization and functioning of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAA).

This Decree-Law, consisting of 5 Chapters and one Annex, establishes the structure, organization and functioning of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAA). It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Ministry, entitled to: design, coordinate, manage, implement and evaluate specific policies set by the Government for the sectors of agriculture, forestry, livestock, agro-industry, food security, environment, water and sanitation, and to propose and implement policy measures, actions and planning programs, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Communities, and management of Cape Verde's relations with international organizations specialized in the fields of its competence, defining its tasks and disciplining their territorial based services, public institutes and public companies. The Decree-Law is divided as follows: Objectives (Chap. I); Structure (Chap. II); Territorial based Services (Chap. III); Public Institution and Entities (Chap. IV); Final provisions (Chap. V). The Annex lists the Organization Chart of the Ministry.
