Abstract
This Resolution approves the Charta (in Annex) promoting the improvement of marine sector "Blue Growth" in Cape Verde. This Charta, consisting of 8 sections, aims to promote sustainable development of ocean and coastal areas, minimize environmental degradation, biodiversity loss and non-sustainable use of marine resources and maximize economic and social benefits of people, focusing on the vision of blue growth in the major strategic options and expected results. The sectors involved are: fisheries and aquaculture, trade, food security, environment, water ecotourism, maritime transport and port development, urban development and responsible coastal management, services and scientific research and security in the implementation, in the promotional tools, and in the monitoring and evaluation of blue growth, in particular in the framework of the Strategy for Growth and Poverty Reduction III (PRSP III) 2012-2016 and the Charta of Fisheries Policy 2013-2018, approved respectively by Resolution No. 26/2014 and No. 17/2014.
