Resolution No. 185/2020 approving the Annual Executive Plan for the Fisheries Resources Management for the year 2021.

This Resolution approves the Annual Executive Plan for the Fisheries Resources Management for the year 2021 (PGRP) under the General Regime for the management and organization of fishing activities in national maritime waters and the high seas, approved by Legislative Decree No. 2/2020 of 19 March. The Plan, consisting of ten Sections establishes the specific objectives arising from the PGRP are formulated as follows: “Cape Verde's Fisheries contributes to the increase in the value of national production, the reduction in the Balance of Payments deficit, the increase in food security, the guarantee of product quality fisheries and increased employment”. The target group is the population of Cape Verde in general, but the beneficiaries in particular are fishers, shipowners, owners of processing industries and workers in the fisheries sector. This Plan is mandatory and the measures set out are applicable to all fishing agents and operators. This Plan can be changed at any time, after hearing the National Fisheries Council, whenever new scientific data or economic and social factors call into question the general and specific objectives of fisheries management.
