Decree no. 98 of 2025 concerning the Prohibition of Fishing and the Passage of Fishing Vessels in the Marine Protected Area of the "Sea Caves of Pegeia", of the Site of Community Importance Akamas Peninsula.

This Decree, issued by the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, exercising its powers in compliance with the provisions of article 5A of the Fisheries Law, provides for ensuring the protection of fishery resources and aquatic organisms within the described marine protected area, and therefore prohibits any fishing activity within the protected area. The Decree defines the following terms: fishing activity, including recreational fishing; site of community importance; marine protected area. The Decree also prohibits the passage and the anchorage of fishing vessels or other watercraft (including non-motorised ones) in the marine protected area, and exempts the holders of a professional coastal fishing permit from the prohibition of fishing.
