Abstract
This Law is issued with the aim of implementing the provisions of EU Directive 2009/125/EC, therefore aims at establishing a framework for the setting of ecodesign requirements for energy-related products. The law provides for the setting of requirements which the energy-related products covered by implementing measures must fulfill in order to be placed on the market and/or put into service. It contributes to sustainable development by increasing energy efficiency and the level of protection of the environment, while at the same time increasing the security of the energy supply (article 4). Products covered by implementing measures may be placed on the market and/or put into service only if they comply with those measures and fulfill the labeling and CE marking requirements as those are set forth in article 7 to this law. Responsibilities of the importers are established under article 8. The law contains four Annexes.
