Abstract
The Ordinance lays down provisions for the protection from foot- and-mouth disease: obligation to give notice to the competent authorities for inspection; measures to be taken in case of suspected and verified infection; surveillance measures to farms consisting of more units; epizootic investigation; monitoring of farms being in contact with an infected unit; infection post-diagnosis measures; disinfection; laboratory tests; recognition and identification of the origin of animals; use and availability of vaccines; emergency action plan.
