Abstract
This law may be cited as the Food (Control and Sale) (Amendment) Law of 2002 and shall be read as one with the Food (Control and Sale) Laws of 1996 up to 2000 (No. 3) (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”). The principal Law and the present Law shall be read in conjunction and will be referred to as the Food (Control and Sale) Laws 1996-2002. The Law provides for certain amendments to the principal law, more specifically: the present law brings forth minor wording amendments to article 6; replacement of section (3) to article 7 regarding foodstuffs unsuitable for human consumption. Section (2) to article 9 laying down specific prohibitions regarding packaging, labeling, marketing or advertising of foodstuffs, article 23 regarding seizing of foodstuffs and articles 24 and 25 (penalties and sanctions) are replaced with the text contained in article 6 and articles 10 and 11 respectively, to this law; articles 10, 22 and 22A are hereby repealed.

Entry into force notes
Without prejudice to section (2) of article 12 to this law, the Law shall enter into force on the date on which enters into force the Labelling, Presenting and Advertising of Foodstuffs (General) Regulations of 2002. The abrogation of article 22A shall enter into force as from 1 January 2003.
