Abstract
For purposes of the implementation of article 8 of the European Community action entitled "Regulation (EC) No. 178/2002 of the European Parliament and the Council of 28 January 2002 lays down the general principles and requirements of food law, establishes the European food safety Authority and lays down procedures in matters of food safety issues. This Act may be cited as the Food (Control and Sale) (Amendment) Act 2014 and shall be read together with the Food (Control and Sale) Laws of 1996-2013 (hereinafter referred to as the basic Act and may be referred to collectively as the on Food (Control and Sale) laws of 1996-2014. The Basic Law is amended by inserting after Article 9 the following new section specifying "oil for human consumption packaging requirements that does not meet the required conditions". New article 9A states that the sale by the food business of oil which the packaging is provided with an opening system that prohibits the reuse of packaging after the consumption of its content, must satisfy characteristics which are listed on the label of the package. If this particular oil does not meet the requirements of subsection (1), the competent Officer must prepare a report and submit it to the Director of Medical and Public Health Services, for the enforcement of administrative fines, in accordance with Article 23A.
