Abstract
The Council of Ministers by virtue of its executive powers under the arts. 4 and 8 of the Prevention and fighting of plant diseases and enemies Act (Chapter 49 and Acts No. 47 of 1978, No. 57 of 1981 and No. 67 (I) of 1993), issue this Order concerning the amendment of paragraph 5 of the basic Order; this paragraph establishes the conditions required for potato seed imports. If such requirements (control against certain plant diseases, phytosanitary certification, conditions of planting , handling, packaging, etc.) are not fulfilled, imports of potato seeds shall be prohibited.

This Order may be cited as the Import of products (Control) (Amendment) Order, 1997 and shall be read together with the Import of products (Control) Orders of 1957 up to 1996 (hereafter called the basic Order), and the basic Order with the present Order shall be cited as the Import of products (Control) Orders of 1957 up to 1997.
