Law No. 25 (I) of 2025 on the Prevention and Extinguishing of Fires in the Countryside.

This Law specifies measures for preventing and extinguishing forest fires in the countryside. The Law defines the following relevant terms: state forest; local government authority; rural area. The Law concerns the following matters: requesting assistance in extinguishing forest fires; requisition process of machines, vehicles and other means necessary to extinguish fires; use of water of of any reservoir, well or spring by the fire-fighting forces; prohibitions of lighting fires, except for permits issued under specific conditions, and general prohibition of the use in open spaces in the countryside of tools, machinery, devices or other equipment for cutting or welding metals or other materials which, during their use, cause heat, flame or sparks and may cause a fire; offences, penalties and attempt to commit offences; liability of officials and employees; powers of the District Governor to require the local administrative authority to construct, create and maintain within its boundaries fire protection works and infrastructure.
