Ministerial Notification, no. 14 of 2025 concerning the publication of the National Catalogue of Varieties of Agricultural Plant and Vegetable Species.

This Ministerial Notification, issued by the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment under section 6 of the Seeds Laws, concerns the publication of the National Catalogue of Varieties of Agricultural Plant and Vegetable Species, containing the varieties that have been officially accepted for registration up to the end of October 2024. The Catalogue is divided into four parts and does not contain genetically modified varieties: part I concerns varieties of agricultural and vegetable species accepted for registration to the National Catalogue of Cyprus according to the provisions of the National Seed legislation and whose marketing is permitted both in Cyprus and in the other countries of the European Union; part II includes the traditional varieties for the conservation of agricultural and vegetable species, registered in the National Catalogue, but whose marketing is permitted only within their region of origin; part III includes the applications submitted for the acceptance of varieties in the National Catalogue and the date of acceptance of the proposed names; part IV concerns a list with the code number, name and address of the Maintainers of the varieties. Concerning the plant variety, the Catalogue includes: wheat species, barley, peanut, onion, melon, watermelon, tomato and courgette.
