Protection and Management of Wild Birds and Game (Amendment) Law, 2006 (Law No. 151( )/2006).

This Law may be cited as the Protection and Management of Wild Birds and Game (Amendment) Law of 2006 and shall be read as one with the Protection and Management of Wild Birds and Game Laws of 2003-2005 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Law"). The principal Law and the present Law shall be read as one and will be referred to as the Protection and Management of Wild Birds and Game Laws of 2003-2006. With a view to better aligning the Cypriot legislative framework with Council Directive 79/409/EEC on the conservation of wild birds, this law brings forth amendments to the principal law. More specifically, in article 2, there are some minor wording amendments; in article 3, paragraph (b) is replaced; article 6 (powers of the Minister) is entirely replaced; in article 7 sections (3) and (5) are replaced; article 8 (protection of wild birds) is entirely replaced; in article 9, the new sections (2A) and (2B) are added; in article 10, section (3) is replaced while the new section (3A) is added; article 29 is repealed; in article 60 a new section (3) is added; in article 67 section (1) is replaced; in Annex I, a list of bird species is added after point (91) while in Annex IV, another list of bird species is added after paragraph (XI).
