Protocol to the 1979 Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution on Further Reduction of Sulphur Emissions (Ratification) Law, 2006 (Law No. 5(ΙΙΙ)/2006).

With the purpose of aligning the Cypriot legislative frame with the European Council Decision 98/686/EC of 23 March 1998 on the conclusion by the European Community of the Protocol to the 1979 Convention on long-range transboundary air pollution on further reductions of sulphur emissions, the present Law ratifies herewith the above mentioned Protocol which was signed on 14 June 1994 in Oslo, Norway. The Protocol seeks to establish ceilings for sulphur emissions for all contracting parties to the Convention. The competent authority for the implementation of the Protocol is the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance of the Republic of Cyprus.
