Abstract
The Law stipulates that no person shall break down or cut down or dig into or under or otherwise damage or destroy any bank or wall of any river (section 4). The Governor may declare any (portion of a) public river to be a river for the purposes of the Law. It further contains definitions, offences and powers of the Commissioner to prohibit the removal of sand etc. from rivers, beds, etc.
