Abstract
These Regulations, made under provisions of article 65 of Forestry Law of 2012, concern disposal and leasing of state forest land in Cyprus, and provide for: regulating the use of forest land for agricultural, livestock, tourist and industrial purposes; defining leasing procedure and obligations of tenants; signing of agreements, payment of rent and general restrictions. The Regulations define the following relevant terms: market usage fee; use licence; farmer; livestock breeder; tourism project; disposal of state forest land. The Regulations cover the following matters: leasing of state land for: agricultural, public, livestock, touristic and industrial purposes. The Regulations focus on the following aspects: ensuring that any leasing or disposal considers environmental, social, and economic factors; facilitating projects that improve public utility, economic development, or infrastructure needs; promoting sustainable use of forest resources.
