Regulations no. 763 of 2003 on Protection Measures against the Importation and Spread of Organisms Harmful to Plants and Plant Products.

These Regulations implement provisions of article 26 of the Law no. 147/I of 2003 on Protection Measures Against the Importation and Spread of Organisms Harmful to Plants and Plant Products, and provide for harmonisation of Cyprus Legislation with the Council Directive 2000/29/EC on protective measures against the introduction into the Community of organisms harmful to plants or plant products and against their spread within the Community. The Regulations concern: harmful organisms whose introduction and spread are prohibited in defined zones of the country; organisms whose introduction and spread are prohibited if they are found in specified plants, plant products and imported plants; ban on the introduction in defined zones of plants, imported plants, and related products; special requirements for the importation and movement of plants, plant products and related objects; plants and plant products subject to phytosanitary controls both at the place of production and before entering the country; special regimes for defined plants and plant products; issuance of phytosanitary certificates and permits for export. The attachments include detailed lists of viruses, bacteria and other pathogens affecting plants; parasitic plants; fungi; insects.
