Abstract
With the purpose of approximating the laws of Cyprus with the European legislation, the present Regulations set forth rules to ensure the safe collection and disposal of waste oils. The disposal shall be carried out, as far as possible, by the method of regeneration. Any undertaking which disposes of waste oils must obtain a permit. The Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment imposes the conditions for the issuance of permits according to regulations 6 and 7. Undertakings dealing with the collection of waste oil are prohibited to mix oil with PBCs and any other hazardous waste. Waste oil-disposal undertakings shall keep registers of the quantity, origin, and nature of waste oil delivered to them. They shall communicate this information to the Ministry every six months. The Ministry shall periodically inform the Commission about the outcome of the provisions of national laws and regulations which they adopt in the field of waste oil disposal.
