Tree Protection Decree pursuant to article 39 (1) of the Town Planning and Spatial Planning Law. Notification no. 140 of 2024.

This Decree of the Minister of the Interior, made under provisions of article 39(1) of the Town Planning and Spatial Planning Law, no. 90 of 1972, prohibits the cutting, uprooting, voluntary destruction, construction or excavation that may affect the trees and groups of trees specified in the attached table (Olive tree, Lotus and Pine). The Decree empowers the Minister to exempt anyone from the prohibitions. The purposes of the Decree are: conservation of the natural resources; improvement of the quality of life; sustainability prospects and improvement of urban and spatial planning; protection of the trees and the groups of trees, as part of cultural, ecological and historical heritage of the area, and as elements of the local ecosystem and wildlife habitats.
