Abstract
The present Regulations are issued in compliance with Council Directive 76/464/EEC and Council Directive 86/280/EEC. Aim of the Regulations is to eliminate pollution of the waters above referred by the dangerous substances in the families and groups of substances in Annex I and to reduce pollution of the said waters by the dangerous substances in the families and groups of substances listed in Annex II. The provisions of these Regulations shall apply to inland surface water and internal coastal waters. All discharges into the waters, which are liable to contain any such substance listed in the Annexes, shall require prior authorization by the Minister.

Entry into force notes
The Regulations enter into force on the date of publication in the Official Gazette; the provisions of Regulation No. 5 and 9 shall come into force on such date as the Cabinet of Ministers may, by Notice in the Gazette, determine.
