Abstract
The present Ordinance lays down provisions relating to the protection of animals in case of slaughtering or killing and transposes the Council Regulation (EC) No. 1099/2009 on the protection of animals at the time of killing into national law. The text consists of 19 articles divided into 5 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Provisions on slaughterhouses (2); Provisions on the storage of fish and crustaceans (3); Provisions on sedating, anaesthetizing, slaughtering and killing of animals (4); Penalties and final provisions (5). Two Annexes are enclosed.
