Abstract
The present Ordinance implements the Council Regulation (EC) No. 1/2005 of 22 December 2004 on the protection of animals during transport and related operations. The Ordinance provides for domestic transport of animals, rail transport, containers conditions, obligations of the sender, space requirements, limitation of transport and delivery, marine mammals and birds, cold-blooded vertebrates and invertebrates and export via certain monitoring bodies . The text consists of 24 Articles divided into 6 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Transport in containers (2); Special provisions on the protection of livestock during inland transport (3); Special provisions on the protection of other animals (4); Transnational transport (5); Competence of authorities; penalties (6). Three Annexes are enclosed.
