Abstract
The present Ordinance implements the Federal Mining Act of 13 August 1980 (BGBl. I p. 1310). The Ordinance applies to the exploration, extraction and processing of mineral resources in the area of the continental shelf. The text consists of 49 articles divided into 6 Parts as follows: Sphere of application (1); Protection of work (2); Exploration and extraction by drilling (3); Special measures for protection of the sea, including seabed (4); Provisions on prevention of safety threats and on efficiency of ship transport, air transport and on the protection of submarine cables (5); Final provisions (6).
