Abstract
The present Ordinance is contained in article 1 of the Ordinance of 23 December 2004 (BGBl. I 3758) on the adaptation of the Hazardous Substance Ordinance to EC-directives. Its aim is to protect – by issuing regulations on their classification, marking and packaging – both human beings and the environment from harmful effects of hazardous substances. The text consists of 26 articles divided into 7 Parts as follows: Sphere of application and definition of terms (I); Information on hazardous substances (II); General protective measures (III); Completing protective measures (IV); Ban and limitations (V); Implementation rules and final provisions (VI); Penalties (VII). Five Annexes are enclosed.
Moreover, the above-mentioned Ordinance on the adaptation of the Hazardous Substance Ordinance to EC-directives repeals the Hazardous Substances Ordinance of 15 November 1999,
