Abstract
The present Law lays down provisions relating to the establishment of the biosphere reserve Lower Saxony Elbe Valley . The aim of the Elbe River Landscape Biosphere Reserve is to preserve and develop the landscape with its unique scenery and its cultural, social and economic values and functions in a way which serves the needs of both man and nature. The text consists of 44 articles divided into 5 Parts as follows: General provisions, requirements and prohibitions (I); Requirements and prohibitions for area A and B (II); Accompanying and compensating measures (III); Management and care (IV); Penalties (V): Seven Annexes are enclosed.
