Abstract
The present Act basically provides for administrative and legal conditions for operating a dairy or for sale of dairy products. The Act relates to milk and margarine products used for human consumption. The Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture is authorised, in agreement with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, to create uniform varieties of products within the meaning of this Act, including from certain production areas, to impose requirements on the production, treatment, nature, labelling and other presentation of these foods in addition to the provisions of the Food and Feed Code, and to determine how to ensure compliance with such requirements. Permission for dairy production has to be obtained from the competent authorities. The Minister will issue further directives on this matter. This Act consists of 16 Articles and 5 sections referring to general provisions (1); authorisation, approval of exceptions (2); monitoring, food monitoring, powers of the countries (3), criminal and fine regulations (4) and final provisions.
