Abstract
The present Law lays down provisions relating to the sustainable protection of nature and landscape in the Land of Baden-W rttemberg. To conserve the environment for future generations, nature and its landscape, being the living space of human beings, shall be protected in such a way as to secure in the long run its integrity, capability of regeneration and sustainable use, as well as to ensure the conservation of flora and fauna and living spaces, including its beauty and recreation value. The text consists of 83 articles divided into 11 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Monitoring of the environment, land use planning (II); General protection of nature and landscape (III); Special protection of nature and landscape (IV); European ecological net Nature 2000 (V); Protection and care of wild fauna and wild flora (VI); Recreation in nature and landscape (VII); Pre-emption, ownership, compensation (VIII); Organization, competence, proceedings (IX); Penalties (X); Transitional and provisional provisions (XI).
