Abstract
An Ordinance to protect pigs from contracting swine fever. The Ordinance contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms therein employed, such as "swine fever", "diseased animal", etc. Part 2 deals with protective measures for pigs and Part 4 with similar measures applicable to other animals. Once the disease is ascertained in a certain place, all pigs have to be destroyed under official supervision. Plants have to be disinfected and cleaned according to EU guidelines. A protected zone has to be declared around an infected area. The Ordinance consists of 17 articles divided into 5 Parts and 2 Annexes.
Entry into force notes
The present Ordinance enters into force on 24 December 2005.
