Abstract
The present Ordinance implements the Council Directive 91/271/EEC of 21 May 1991 concerning urban waste water treatment. In particular, the purpose of the Ordinance is to protect surface waters against harmful effects of urban waste water discharge. The text consists of 11 articles as follows: Purpose, definition of terms (1); Sensitive areas (2); Canalisation (3); Waste water discharge by local authorities (4); Industrial waste water discharge into surface waters (5); Industrial waste water discharge in canalisation (6); Additional requirements (7); Reports and programmes (8); Exceptions in case of technical difficulties (9); Sludge (10); Entry into force (11). Seven Annexes are enclosed.
