Abstract
The present Ordinance lays down provisions relating to the monitoring and control of transboundary shipments of radioactive waste substances and spent fuel. Radioactive waste is defined as all gaseous, liquid or solid radioactive substances in the country of origin and country of destination that are subject to control by the supervisory authorities. The Ordinance provides for the conditions on prevention of transfer and permitted ones. The text consists of 25 articles dealing with the following matters: sphere of application (1), relation with other regulations (2), definition of terms (3), uniform accompanying documents (4), transfer ban, approval (5), application (6), confirmation of receipt and request for information (7)transport to a member state (8), transport to a third state (9), domestic shipment from a third country (10), shipment through Germany (11) briefings (12), transmission and carrying of documents (13) consent to domestic shipments from a member state (14), consent to transit (15), approval by other states (16), shipments that have not been completed (17), confirmation of receipt (18), language regulations (19), involvement of customs offices (20), storage of the uniform accompanying documents after the end of procedure (21), transfer of the authorisation to issue statutory ordinances (22), administrative offences (23), article (24) is deleted, entry into force (25).
