Abstract
The above-mentioned Ordinance implements the Council Directive 92/3/Euratom of 3 February 1992 on the supervision and control of shipments of radioactive waste between Member States into and out of the Community. At the outset the Ordinance contains a definition clause relating to various terms therein employed such as, for example, “radioactive waste”, “third country”, “off site disposal”. Article 5 establishes that whoever intends to transport radioactive waste to or into a third country needs an authorization by the Federal Export Office. Thereafter the text deals with aspects such as shipments between member states, imports into and exports out of Germany, transport through Germany. The text consists of 21 articles. Two Annexes are enclosed.
