Abstract
The present Act is contained in article 1 of the Act of 21 July 2004 (BGBl. 1918) revising the legislation of renewable electricity energy. In particular,in compliance with the provisions laid down in Directive 2001/77/EC of 27 September 2001, the purpose of the present Act is to promote an increase in the contribution of renewable energy sources to electricity production in the internal market for electricity. Renewable energy sources are defined as renewable non-fossil energy sources, i.e. wind, solar, geothermal, wave, tidal, hydropower, biomass, landfill gas, sewage treatment plant gas and biogases. The text consists of 17 articles and 1 Annex.
