Sachsen-Anhalt Nature Protection Law.

The present Law lays down provisions relating to the sustainable protection of nature and landscape in the Land of Sachsen-Anhalt. To conserve the environment for future generations, nature and its landscape, being the living space of human beings, shall be protected in such a way as to secure in the long run its integrity, capability of regeneration and sustainable use, as well as to ensure the conservation of flora and fauna and living spaces, including its beauty and recreation value. The text, consisting of 39 articles, deals, inter alia, with the following aspects: nature protection authorities, nature advisory boards, land use planning, intervention in nature and landscape, intervention proceedings, compensation payments, extraction of minerals, nature protection register, protection of biosphere reserves, legally protected biotopes, restriction of basic rights, entry into force.
