Abstract
Purpose of the Act is to ensures animal health by implementing measures for prevention, monitoring, control and fight against diseases, zoonoses and zoonotic infectious agents in animals, in animal foods and animal products. These activities include quarantine, marking, hygienization, vaccination and destruction of animals following thorough tests, registration and certification thereof.
It consists of 13 Chapters and 2 Appendix: Purpose (1); Investigation and determination (2); Control and prevention (3); Reporting and recording (4); Transport and turnover (5); Import and export of animals (6); Insemination and egg transplantation (7); Animal waste (8); Feedstuff (9); Veterinary drugs (10); Payment, compensation (11); Control, release of information, appeals (12); Penalty and entry into force (13).

Entry into force of the Act or part thereof shall be specified by the Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries.
Notes
The Act does not apply to the Faroe Islands and Greenland but may - by Royal Decree - entirely or partly be brought into force for Greenland under special conditions in that country.
